Open Call for Proposals

As part of the recently-launched EC-UN Joint Migration and Development implemented
by UNDP Brussels, a Б┌╛10 million Call for Proposals is now open, and will close
on 27 March 2009.

Romanian entities, notably the civil society and local authorities may apply for funding under this Call for Proposals in partnership with entities in the one of the 16 countries targeted by the initiative. Two of the targeted countries, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova are also priority countries of Romania Official Development Assistance (ODA).

Full details are available on the Call for Proposals website at: www.migration4de velopment.org/call-for-proposals. Projects proposed should be in one or more of the four thematic areas - migrant capacities, migrant communities, migrant remittances and migrant rights - and should take account of the guidelines produced
for each area.

Projects will only be considered from two or more applicant groups working together in a consortium. The proposal of the consortium must aim for a developmental impact
in one of the following countries:Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Senegal, Cape Verde, Ghana, Nigeria, Mali, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Jamaica, Ecuador

Each consortium can include any number of applicant organizations, but at least one
of the applicant organizations must be based in one of the 16 target countries
of the Joint Initiative, and one applicant organization must be based in one of
the 27 EU Member States, in our case Romania.
