How to raise capital with a realistic and viable Biotech Business Plan
Biobiz workshop in America
in collaboration with
European Commission and University of California San Diego
October 12-14th 2006.
Biobiz helps scientists to prepare a viable business plan for financing life science company projects.
During these three-day workshops, participants will cover issues such as business models, business plans, securing capital, start-up dynamics and review what specific skills and knowledge they need to be successful.
Participants learn how to work with specific interactive software and take away their own fully licensed copy.
Experienced trainer and experts in management and finance provide genuine insights though their presentations and evaluations.
In addition, participants have an opportunity for personal counselling sessions on their business projects under a confidentiality agreement.
How much does it cost?
Biobiz is sponsored by the European Commission Research Directorate and Eurobiobiz, therefore the workshops are open to all European candidate and associated countries' citizens. Space is limited to 15 trainees per workshop due to intensive teamwork using computers. These places will be considered on a first-come first-serve basis. A participation fee of :
€ 300 per person for EU Member countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom)
€ 100 per person for Candidate countries (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Malta, Cyprus)
€ 600 per person for Industry or Institution will be charged (reduced from EUR 2200).
300€ / 400 USD: All participants to USA based workshops.
Accommodation, travel and personal expenses are not included in this fee.

Biobiz is intended for researchers in life sciences from Member States and associated countries. But individuals in bio-incubators, technology transfer offices or venture capital firms dedicated to life sciences and biotechnology can also apply.
Participants will be selected according to the relevance of their application.
