Undertake all preliminary requirements in preparation for submission of a complete application for 2008, including:
develop and discuss your Australian study plans with your employer, referees and family;
collect all required supporting documents (eg passport, birth certificate, university transcripts, referee reports etc);
arrange certification of true copies and translation of documents into English as required;
prepare for and complete an appropriate language test (if required); and
conduct research on available Australian courses, attend Australian higher education exhibitions where available and request offer of enrolment letter(s) from your preferred institution( s).

2008 ALA application opening date.
15 June 2007
Recommended date for completion of all preliminary language testing (if required).
30 June 2007
Recommended latest date for submission of all requests for enrolment at preferred Australian insitutions.
16 July 2007
Closing date for applications and all supporting documentation to be received by mail (only for applicants without access to internet-based application form).
31 July 2007
Closing date for applicants submitting an on-line application via the ALA Website (this method of submission is preferred). The set of hard copy supporting documentation must also be received by this date.
October 2007
Successful applicants advised of outcome of selection process.
October - December 2007
Preparation for commencement of study in Australia, including visa application, travel and housing arrangements, family and employment arrangements.
2008 Australian academic year
Study must commence in Australia (Semester 1 intake in January 2008 and Semester 2 intake in July 2008). Awards cannot be deferred to the following year.
