CfP:International Symposium on Globalization Democratization and Turkey

The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Akdeniz University invites social scientists from all countries of the world to make contributions to �The International Symposium on Globalisation, Democratization and Turkey� to be held in Antalya from 27th to 30th March 2008.

The objective of this symposium is to bring together academicians and researchers from Turkey and abroad working on the mega trends of globalisation and its consequences on democratisation reflected on the economic, political and social order of countries, to share and discuss theories and research results pertaining to a multitude of themes arising from this context, paying special attention to the threats and opportunities for Turkey.

The symposium themes range over a broad spectrum from a purely political perspective of the world order to a purely economic one; covering issues of armament, security, terrorism, poverty, inequality, unemployment, education, migration, global warming etc.; putting special emphasis on the impact of globalization on democratization and the state; providing opportunity for analysis of global business organizations and entrepreneurship in the context of a global marketplace; and eventually inviting studies on the actual and potential consequences of globalization on the international relations, politics, economics and social issues of Turkey.
