AIESEC UI challenges *YOU* to run a *SOCIAL PROJECT* in *CHINA*, a country grows at 10% a year for 10 years, a country is defining the World and writing the World's future!
The project is called:
*Education for Sustainable Development 2009*
ESD China is an innovative program in local high schools to educate students about key topics of Sustainable Development. It aims to inspire action owards a sustainable future, through facilitating an educational experience amongst students helping them understand key values which a sustainable society is based upon. It was established by AIESEC and Plan International in Jan 2007. ESD China is one of the most developed projects in AIESEC Mainland China. It runs in 4 cities - Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an and Tianjin, which are the most fantastic cities in China.
*What will you do there?*
1. Gaining professional training from Plan International about sustainable
development;
2. Selecting specific topics under the sustainable development umbrella and
preparing the lesson plan with your team mates;
3. Teaching high school students about sustainable development;
4. Participating in school activities like global village, Art Festival, etc, to present your country and the unique culture;
5. Organizing the impact report seminar in the final week of the traineeship, to get high school, students, sponsors and partners involved to the program, to enlarge the
social impact.
Additional opportunities
1. One year free online Chinese course;
2. Volunteering opportunity in local charities;
3. Regional AIESEC Conference in late March, mingle with 300 plus people;
4. Regular social activities connecting other trainees, alumni and local members;
5. Study tour to places of interest.
Accommodation - you will live in school dorm or home-stay in AIESEC member or local student's house. Food - provided by school. Internship starts on March 1st, 2009 with 2 months duration.
