International Student Scholarships and Graduate Assistantships at Northern Kentucky University

Greetings from Northern Kentucky University! I am writing to update you on important deadlines and offerings at Northern Kentucky University. We are well into our fall semester which began in August but we are still accepting applications for the spring semester which will begin on January 10, 2010.

The application deadline for the upcoming semester is October 1, 2009. All students can apply at http://apply.nku.edu and instructions on applying can be found at http://oiss.nku.edu/. Students who apply for the January semester may receive the International Student Award and/or the Transfer Award.

*International Student Award*
At least ten new international students will be chosen at the beginning of every semester to receive the International Student Award which is in the amount of $2,000/ year and is renewable based on grades. Students will be chosen for this scholarship based on their grades and test scores. Interested students do not need to complete a
new application to apply for this scholarship.

*Transfer Award*
The Transfer Award is available for students who transfer to Northern Kentucky University a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited university any where in the world. This award is in the amount of $2,000/year and students do not need to complete any additional applications for this scholarship.

Graduate students are always encouraged to apply for graduate assistantships. More information about assistantships can be found at http://oiss.nku.edu/.

The university is also offering a large variety of institutional scholarships for students planning to enroll in August 2010. These scholarships cover a range of amounts but may include full tuition and room and board. All of these scholarships require a separate scholarship application as well as a strong SAT score and outstanding grades. Interested students should be aware of the strict January 15,

NKU also offers an Intensive English Program and conditional admission to undergraduate programs through the Intensive English Program. These classes are held in 8- week sessions and the next intake days are in October and January. For more information please visit http://aelp.nku.edu/.
