Wesleyan University Welcomes International Applicants

Wesleyan University is a private, nonsectarian university of liberal arts and sciences for men and women. Wesleyan offers its students the advantages and benefits of a relatively small school along with the facilities, faculty, and research opportunities usually found at larger universities. Established in 1831, Wesleyan has a long tradition of sustaining a remarkably diverse, lively community of learning. Located in Middletown, Connecticut (pop. 45,000), Wesleyan is two hours from New
York City and two hours from Boston, situated in New England along the Connecticut River midway between Hartford and New Haven.

Wesleyan offers instruction in 39 departments and 46 major fields of study and awards the bachelor of arts and graduate degrees. The master of arts degree and the doctor of philosophy are regularly awarded in six fields of study. Students may choose from more than 900 courses each year and may be counted upon to devise, with the faculty, some 900 individual tutorials and lessons.

Wesleyan's Office of International Student Affairs (www.wesleyan.edu/oisa) offers many services and programs to support the international student population including advice on personal and cultural matters, assistance with visas, insurance, careers planning,
and academic expectations.

The average financial aid offered to international students is $44,600 (Source: Peterson's Applying to Colleges and Universities in the United States 20th edition).

The Wesleyan Freeman Asian Scholars Program, provides full tuition scholarships for a four-year course of study at Wesleyan toward a bachelor's degree for 22 exceptionally able Asian students. For more information and an application, please write to Therese P. Overton, Office of Admission, or send an e-mail to toverton@wesleyan. edu.

Wesleyan has dedicated significant resources to worldwide travel. To augment our real-time travel, we hope to implement more "virtual" travel, using technology to see and talk to you and your students. Depending on available equipment, we could send you a PowerPoint presentation for you to show while we're on speaker phone or use
videoconferencing equipment. We would also like to schedule more interviews using Skype. Please let me know if you are interested in scheduling a virtual visit: toverton@wesleyan. edu. Of course, our website offers all sorts of information as well as a sense of being on campus. Please encourage your students to visit often:
