*Pre-Doctoral Training in Social Sciences especially for candidates from Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Middle East (Introductory Year 2010/11)*
The Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences is calling for applications for its pre-doctoral Introductory Year 2010/11.
The BGSS's Introductory Year is for social science graduates from Eastern Europe (beyond ERASMUS), Central Asia and the Middle East, who want to prepare for doctoral research. Candidates should be funded by exchange programs such as Erasmus Mundus or DAAD.
The Introductory Year offers state of the art training in advanced social science theories with a focus on "varieties of democracy" and "varieties of inclusion", and methods courses as well as professional development in view of preparing an application at a Graduate School or Research Training Group in Europe.
Members of the Introductory Year are eligible for funding for language courses, soft skills training as well as workshops and additional conferences.
