Conference "Sustainable Development at the Black Sea"

The League of Romanian Students Abroad is inviting Romanian students and graduates from all over the world to apply to the Conference "Sustainable Development at the Black Sea", until 17 July 2010.
The event will bring together exceptional students enrolled in the two competitions, as well as representatives of the diplomacy and business environment, in order to facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practice related to sustainable development in the Black Sea region.

This event enjoys the Patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania.
There will be two workgroups within the Conference:
1. Workgroup I : "Geopolitics and Geo-strategy at the Black Sea" Romania in the European Union and its role at the Black Sea Energy Security. The importance of the Danube strategy for the Black Sea region. Regional cooperation initiatives in the Black Sea area
1. Workgroup II : "Sustainable Investments at the Black Sea"
Renewable energy
The protection and development of the Black Sea and Danube Delta patrimony
Eco-tourism
Recycling and waste recovery
New information technologies and sustainable development
The first workgroup consists of a competition of scientific essays on one of the proposed subjects. The second workgroup consists of a competition of entrepreneurial projects in the area of sustainable investments.
The initial application file must contain the applicant's CV (in English) and a short summary of the essay/project (maximum 1 page, in English and in Romanian). These have to be sent by 17 July 2010 to the following e-mail address: conferinta@lsrs.ro. For the final phase of the competition, the selected candidates will have to submit the full paper, of maximum 10 pages, which they will present at the Conference “Sustainable Development at the Black Sea' on 28 - 29 August.
Please refer to the attached Call for Applications for more details related to the awards given for each workgroup (money awards, internships in the field of interest, free consulting on setting up the entrepreneurial project, as well as the possibility to incubate the start-up).
The Conference "Sustainable Development at the Black Sea" aims to become an annual event which will set the basis for an online network, an interactive community formed of young participants in the Conference and experts in the field of sustainable development, which will promote new projects and development solutions in the area.
