PhD positions at the Department of Agricultural Economics, (Christian-Albrechts-University, Kiel, Germany)

The primary responsibility is the interdisciplinary EU-research project “Advanced-Eval, which develops and applies advanced methods for the ex ante und ex post evaluation of EU-rural development policy programs. The project focuses on the following methodological and theoretical re-search topics:

1. Agent-based modelling of the rural economy as complex social and economic system in-corporating social network relations among agents.

2. Applied econometrics.

3. Political economy modelling of EU-Rural Development Policy (EU-RD policy).

4. Simulation of Economic-Ecological Systems based on a multi-agent-model.

The PhD-candidates will be directly integrated into an international and interdisciplinary research team within the EU-Project Advanced-Eval. A master’s
degree or a comparable university degree in agricultural or food economics; economics or social science; mathematical or computational economics is essential. Good knowledge in quantitative methods of economics or social science.
