Call for International Delegation to Draft Youth Space Resolution
Resolution will identify the requests of youth to world space programs

VALENCIA, SPAIN - The Space Generation Advisory Council in support of the United Nations Program on Space Applications announced today that applications are being accepted for the Space Generation Congress that will convene this year on Sept. 28-30. The fifth annual congress, to be held in Valencia, Spain, calls for an international delegation of young professionals and students to define the future direction of the world space arena and to produce a joint youth space resolution. This year's congress will meet in conjunction with the International Astronautical Congress, a premier international space industry conference.

The Space Generation Congress encourages the active involvement of youth in global space policy. It is open to delegates from a diverse range of backgrounds including professional engineers, scientists, lawyers, artists, entrepreneurs, business managers, environmentalists and educators as well as students from these areas. In previous congresses, delegates have represented over 45 countries.

In addition to producing a youth space resolution, the congress will also feature opportunities for delegates to join global projects, gain intensive leadership skills training, and network with today's top industry leaders. Previous congresses have produced global projects such as the MoonMars Workshop and the Yuri's Night: World Space Party annual events.

The Space Generation Congress is organized by the Space Generation Advisory Council, a United Nations endorsed organization dedicated to bringing forth the voice of today's youth on tomorrow's space issues. The SGAC was sanctioned by the United Nations following the 1999 UNISPACE III conference in recognition of the invaluable input provided by young people on world space issues.
