A research fellowship for two years will be available starting June 2006. The position is designed for investigative work in developing blood compatible biomaterials. The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative industrial-research program focusing on development of a blood contacting device.
Ideal candidate must have a doctoral degree in polymer chemistry, polymer engineering, biomedical engineering or related sciences. Proven expertise in biomaterial processing and synthesis and knowledge of blood compatibility studies is essential. The candidate will develop novel grafting and processing techniques and investigate response by in vitro as well as in vivo models. Experience with in vitro assay development is desirable but not essential.
