Youth Camp 2006 "Active citizenship and participation", 3 - 10 September

The main topic of the camp will be "Active Citizenship and participative education" and participants will have the opportunity to make personal experience in this field and discuss these experiences after the activities and at the end of each day.
Objectives of the IRSH Youth Camp give young people the opportunity to meet in an international environment and to:
Demonstrate how we can overcome political, social and cultural barriers. Test the educational concept practically. Exchange experience among youth leaders, active in the field of non-formal education, working directly with young people; Develop knowledge, attitudes and skills to play an active role in the wider community;
Work in groups, taking on different roles such as leader or organiser, taking responsibility forcarrying through a task with others, facing up to challenges and taking decisions democratically; Develop a value for sensitivity towards individual differences; Work on concrete follow-up activities from local to international level and multiplying.
Applicants are requested to have good knowledge of English, since it will be the working language of the Summer Camp.
Profile of participants:
Young people involved in voluntary work at local, regional, national NGOs
Young people not active in a formal NGO structure, but working in the field of education or social change.
Participant's age should be between 15 -30.
Costs
The application fee for the summer camp is set at 30 EUR for international participants countries. For Albanian participants the fee is 3000 Leke. Accommodation and food will be covered by the organizers, but the travel is upon the participants. Concerning the food, participants will be divided in groups of 3 or more and will have as a duty to cook for all the participants, one group per day.
