The soul of Helsinki Summer School is to be found in its courses, which are fully credited and of high academic quality. Although the courses, which are given in English, are designed both for Master's degree and PhD students, they may also be taken by students finishing their Bachelor's degree. The number of credits (ECTS) to be granted varies according to the course. Because the courses are intensive and fairly demanding, participants may take only one course at a time.

The registration deadline is *31 July 2006*. You should, however, apply as early as possible, as the students are selected on a first come, first served basis.
There are two stages in the registration procedure. First, you should submit the online registration
form
Please remember to fill in the registration form carefully, especially the "Letter of Motivation" part. If you have problems submitting the online registration form, you can also fill in and print out the form and then send it to us by fax or egular mail. However, submitting an online registration form will speed up the processing of your application.
Second, we will notify you of your acceptance by email and ask you to pay the registration fee (150 € + costs) within seven days. Do not pay the registration fee before we confirm that there is a place available for you at the course. If you register before 31 May 2006, you will receive a 50 € reduction in the registration fee. Payment may be made either by bank transfer or by credit card.
Please note that you can guarantee your admission to the course ONLY by paying the registration fee. No letters of acceptance or invitations are sent until you have paid the fee. Helsinki Summer School cannot refund the registration fee in case of a cancellation.
If we have not received the credit card receipt or a copy of the bank transfer in time, we will have to cancel your course reservation. Your application will however remain in our database and, assuming that there are places left on the course, you can renew your registration simply by contacting us.
