AAAHRP 2009 Biennial Black History Conference

AAAHRP 2009 Biennial Black History Conference

Dear Community Member:

I want to call your attention to the upcoming AAAHRP 2009 Biennial Black History Conference that will be held on Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Seattle University.

If you think history is boring, I invite you to attend our upcoming conference.

At the AAAHRP 2009 Biennial Black History Conference, you'll have the opportunity to discover history that won't be found in mainstream books as experts from across the country and other nations come to Seattle to share their knowledge of black history with you.

AAAHRP conferences have become the benchmark for excellence. In fact, they have become so popular that they've been expanded to two (2) days from one (1), and the 2009 history conference, with the theme "Black History: Full Disclosure," promises to be the best ever. The AAAHRP two-day black history conference, the only one of its type held in the Pacific Northwest, will include paper sessions, panels, roundtables, and workshops. You can find additional conference information, including the names of the scholars and historians scheduled to appear on the "Conference Info" page of www.aaahrp.org.

The keynote presentation, to be delivered by Mr. Tim Pinnick, noted researcher and author, will be "African American History: The Rest of the Story."

Why You Should Attend
Here are just a few reasons why you should attend the AAAHRP 2009 Biennial Black History Conference: We have gathered some of the most knowledgeable black-history experts for the conference; you'll be exposed to historical information that is normally extremely difficult to obtain; you'll have the chance to interact with leading historians and scholars, and be exposed to their latest research; and you will have opportunities to exchange ideas with presenters, colleagues, friends, and other members of the community.

"Early Bird" Registration
This is your opportunity to take advantage of the "Early Bird" conference registration rate - the lowest rate available - effective through December 31, 2008. (See attached registration form.)

Reserve Your Place
Don't be left out, mark your calendar, save the dates, and reserve your place at the conference by registering today. You can use the attached registration form or download one from the AAAHRP website, www.aaahrp.org.

Please pass this invitation widely and freely to others.

I hope to see you at the AAAHRP 2009 Biennial Black History Conference.

Sincerely,

Ed Diaz,

P.S.: This conference is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Violet Malone (March 21, 1935 - February 2, 2008), who was a dear friend and ardent AAAHRP supporter. An Educator, Artist, and World Traveler, Dr. Malone was the AAAHRP Keynote Speaker at the 2007 conference, one year before her untimely death.
