*Call for Doctoral / Post-Doctoral Research Fellows *
*European Institute of Istanbul Bilgi University* (BILGI), *Institut d'Etudes Politique de Paris* (Sciences Po) and *Institut Français d'Etudes Anatoliennes* (IFEA) invite applications for doctoral and post-doctoral fellowship in the field of European studies. The funding will cover a fellow from Turkey in Sciences Po, Paris; and a fellow from France at European Institute of Istanbul Bilgi University, Istanbul, for 6 months starting from February 2009. The fellows are required to reside in Paris and Istanbul for the duration of their fellowship. Fellowships are open to candidates who are Ph.D. students working on their dissertations or have received their Ph.D in the preceding four years.
*Open Call for fellows:*
1. Applications in the research areas of EU integration, migration, poverty, exclusion, human rights, gender, identity, multiculturalism, democratization, religion, nationalism and other related fields are invited. The fellows will conduct research in collaboration with the scholars within the department and institute of BILGI and Sciences Po.
2. Language: English
3. Duration: 6 months
4. Location: i) BILGI, Istanbul for fellow from France; ii) Sciences Po, Paris for fellow from France.
5. Date: February - July 2009
6. Deadline for submissions: 30.01.2009
7. The fellows are expected to participate to seminars and other events of the hosting institution, and to present their research in conferences.
8. Proposals should include the following materials:
· Abstract (maximum 300 words) and title of the working paper.
· CV of the applicant with a list of his/her publications.
9. Scholarship will be given in the form of salary, which will be subject to tax cut. Brut amount will be;
i) 1500 EUR/month x 6 = 9000 EUR for fellow in Istanbul
ii) 2000 EUR/month x 6 = 12.000 EUR for fellow in Paris.
*INTERACT - EU, France, and Turkey Universities Dialogue:***
This scholarship program is part of a larger framework of activities under INTERACT - EU, France, Turkey Universities Project, implemented by BILGI, Sciences Po and IFEA under coordination of Secretary General for EU Affairs. The project aims to contribute to the eradication of prejudices and hence to decrease the levels of mistrust through enhanced dialogue promoting rational information between the publics of Turkey and the European Union; to dissemination of better knowledge and understanding of Turkey within the EU and of EU within Turkey, provide for the exchange of knowledge on EU policies as well as enhance analytical skills and academic know-how on both sides. This will mainly be achieved through long-term sustainable collaboration between the partners of the project Istanbul Bilgi University, Sciences Po-Institut d'Etudes Politique de Paris and Institut Français
d'Etudes Anatoliennes. **
