PhD Studentship - Epidemiology of Genetic causes of common age-related conditions Peninsula Postgraduate Health Institute

This studentship will join a US National Institutes of Health funded project, and will use epidemiological and statistical skills to explore the effects of large numbers of candidate genes on disease in middle-aged and older people. The studentship is based in the Epidemiology and Public Health Group and will be part of a collaboration with Molecular Genetics. The student will be registered for a PhD to be awarded by both Exeter and PlymouthUniversitie s, through the Peninsula Postgraduate Health Institute.

Award: The studentship will be funded for three years. The Institute will meet the tuition fees at the Home/EU rate. Candidates from countries outside the European Union will be liable for the difference between 'home student fees' and 'foreign student fees'. The studentship also provides a doctoral stipend of £12,300 per year, subject to satisfactory progress.
