One Ph.D fellowship is available on reactor modelling and optimization in the catalysis group, Department of Chemical Engineering, NTNU. The fellowship is mainly supported by the Norwegian Research Council and Norwegian Industry
The focus of the project will be on modelling and simulation of a fluidized reactor for production of ethylene by high temperature oxidative dehydrogenation. The main objective of the project is to develop both conventional 1-D and 2-D reactor models and a CFD model, where both gas phase and possible surface reactions will be included. Design and optimization of the reactor will be addressed by a close cooperation with SINTEF, University Oslo and industrial partners. The candidate will work in a group with several other Ph.D students, postdoc in the reactor group.
The subjects are within the priority areas of natural gas conversion/catalysis/nanotechnology at the Department and will be carried out in close cooperation with industrial and academic partners. More detailed information can be found on the webpage: http://www.nt.ntnu.no/users/chen/
