Rated as one of the top public Universities for international students, the University of Oregon does its best to make students of every nationality feel at home. Offering a broad spectrum of degrees in the liberal arts and programs in architecture, arts, business, education, journalism, law, and music and dance, the University of Oregon provides academic opportunities for over 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
University of Oregon`s campus is situated in a classic college town with more than 200,000 inhabitants and with nearby access to Oregon`s pristine wilderness areas, UO students have plenty of opportunities to get away from the city and take part in outdoor activities like rock climbing and kayaking. Complementing the external environment, the UO student and faculty community is a diverse mix of international and domestic students.
To foster relationships and enhance campus community life, UO developed a unique program in which first-year undergraduate students have the opportunity to join interest groups, groups of 25 first-year students that take two general education courses together within the first term.
The University of Oregon offers a wide range of financial aid to support its growing international student population. International Affairs grants 30-40 international students competitive scholarships of $6,000-$18,000 yearly. The International Dean`s Excellence Award for New International Students awards $4,000-$8,000 to qualified first-year international undergraduate students. Work-study positions are also available to eligible international students with financial need.
