PhD scholarship in carbohydrate chemistry (Due: 22 February 2010)

A PhD position is available at the Department of Chemistry at the Technical University of Denmark. The purpose of the project is to prepare oligosaccharides found in human milk by chemical synthesis. This will involve synthesis of specially designed glycosyl donors and acceptors followed by glycosylations to assemble the desired oligosaccharides.

The project is part of a larger strategic research project funded by the Danish Council for Strategic Research where the aim is to develop new enzymatic procedures for production of human milk oligosaccharides.
