Dear Colleagues,
Please find attached information about a new three-year regional seminar for young academics from Central Asia, "Nationhood and Narrative in Central Asia: History, Context, Critique". The project is hosted by Arabaev Kyrgyz State University and the Educational Initiatives Support foundation and is supported by the Higher Education Support Program of OSI.
We are currently recruiting University teachers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in relevant social science and humanities disciplines for participation in the first summer school of the program, to take place at Lake Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan, from July 17th - August 6th. The working language of the program is Russian; reading knowledge of English is desirable. All of the program expenses for selected participants are covered.
