"European Public Law and European Integration" master programme of the Bahçesehir University

We are pleased to inform you the "European Public Law and European Integration" master programme of the Bahçesehir University that initiates in 2006-2007 academic year. Supported by and in cooperation with the European Public Law Center (EPLC), our programme aims to form the jurists who will be specialized on the European public law field and be able to provide a European perspective to Turkey during the membership period as well as afterwards. The programme offers three different following possibilities:

. the Taught Master's

. the Master's by research

. the Certificates of specialization

In addition to two compulsory general courses on European public law and European integration issues given by professors from the EPLC network, fifteen selective special classes on the subdisciplines of the European law such as competition, environment, energy, intellectual property and comparative public law as well as protection of fundemental rights, comparative human rights, freedom of religion are offered. The students have to choose ten of the special classes that will be taught both by EPLC network and Turkish professors. The objective is to provide the students a perspective emphasizing the necessity of an international dimension regarding the public law. The students also choose one of the two sort of research methodology seminars regarding to their career objectives. While the Master's by research is designed to include the writing of a thesis of at least 40000 words either in English or French, the taught Master's will include the writing of an at least 10000-words dissertation together with the completion of a stage/study visit abroad. The best students will be awarded a scholarship in order to do an internship at the EPLC in Athens. The applicants should have an undergraduate degree in law (in priority) or in political science, international relations, sociology or history. Applications from graduates of other countries' universities are welcomed, and are assessed according to an equivalent standard. Applicants must be fluent in English; knowledge of French is also an advantage. Applications must be made between 1st July - 1st August 2006 and must be sent to the EPLC representative office no later than 1st August 2006. Proper to the first year, EPLC and Bahçesehir University assist jointly the students in covering the cost of the programme. Hence the admitted applicants will be responsible only for a reduced amount of the cost. Our curriculum is specially designed to provide a solid grasp of the European public law and fundamental concepts of the European Integration. We intend to train the candidates who are willing to work within the academic field, the national and international bureaucracies and nongovernmental organizations.
