PhD Juridical sciences 'Regulatory aspects of search engines' (Universiteit van Amsterdam, Netherlands)

This doctoral (PhD) research project will preferably focus on the 'Regulatory aspects of search engines', namely how to position the activities of Internet search engines from an information law perspective (with a particular focus on such aspects as freedom of information, privacy law and competition law. A focus on intellectual property right issues is not envisaged).

Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the Institute's research programme, which can be found at www.ivir.nl. Candidates are not expected to submit a detailed research proposal, but are invited to reflect, in their letter of application, upon one or more of the topics mentioned above. Other topics within the field of media and telecommunications law may also be considered.
