USA: Woodrow Wilson Center Residential Fellowships

Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Residential Fellowships in Washington, D.C.

I am writing to announce the 2007-2008 fellowship competetion of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and to ask your assistance in bringing this competetion to the attention of leading scholars and practitioners in your country. The application deadline is October 2, 2006.

The Center awards approximately 20-25 academic year residential fellowships to individuals from any country with outstanding project proposals on national and/or international issues. Topics and scholarships should relate to key public policy challenges or provide the historical and/or cultural framework to illuminate policy issues of contemporary importance. Applicants must have a very good command of spoken English to be eligible. Applicants must also hold a doctorate (or equivalent foreign degree) or have equivalent professional experience.

Fellows are provided stipends (which include round trip travel), private offices, access to the Library of Congress, Windows-based computers, and research assistants.

For details about the fellowship competetion please visit Center`s website www.wilsoncenter.org/fellowships.

While the Center does not engage in formulating actual policy, priority will be given to proposals related to these themes and intersecting with crucial public policy issues. Within this framework, the Center also welcomes projects that provide the historical and/or cultural context for some of today’s significant public policy debates.
