Dear Friends,

We aimed to:

To promote participation of university students.
To promote a culture of equality and diversity by making sure that youth issues are mainstreamed across all other working groups, and that the needs of particular groups, university students are addressed adequately.
To act together "Towards a Culture of Equality", focusing on religional, historical and cultural diversities within the scope of contributions of young people to this heritage for a better understanding together with the youth policies.
The main objectives of the project are meeting with young people from different cultures. And youth participation and intercultural learning will be an important part of this project. The most important learning process for the participants will be cross-cultural learning and social and personal development. Participants will actively join to the activities such as games, art workshops,

In the preaccession stage of candidate countries for EU, we find various problems at democratization level as well as adjustment problems at economic and social spheres. These differ according to the individual conditions of each country. One problem that confronts Turkey's entering into EU is the image problematique of Turkey. This stems from historical factors as well as the fact that Turkey has a different religion from the majority of EU countries.

In light of contemporary events that took place in France and Denmark, we find it importune to remould the image of Turkey in the European Psyche. This project is a small contribution in the right direction.

The majority of the Europeans coming to Turkey experience a different reality than what they expect to get. It is fair to say that the mental image that they have in their mind is negative and it changes to positive when they see the real sitiuation and how the folks in Turkey live.

Our project aims at showing the youth of Europe how Turks live and interact at their daily life. We propose to bring a representative sample of youth between the ages of 18 and 25 to come to Turkey and experience the local life. At the same time to discuss , diagnose and propose cures for the problem of ethnocentrism. European youth will be mixed with the Turkish youth and local people to interact. The project will be carried out by workshops conducted by experienced instructors and field trips offering opportunities for interaction. And will be followed by an evaluation study.

....European youths a s well as ....Turkish youths are proposed to participate in the project.

The young participants will benefit from the exchange by
