Youth Seminar on EUROPEAN YOUTH DESIGN

The Abana Young Women Entrepreneurs Association which is a Non-Governmental Organization at national and international level, invites you an innovative project named "Youth Seminar on European Youth Design". You can find the brief information below.
Place : Abana
Durations : 8 days (excluding travel dates)
Estimated Dates : (22-29 July 2007)
Project Purpose : One of the major aims of the EU is to create new cooperation between the countries that will continue in the future under the European Awareness and an information society that has a common vision in the cultural diversity. Project objective is introducing traditional Turkish woven, which are almost forgotten, to young European (from EU member countries) and Turkish designers to discover new usage areas and to see sustainability of these textiles.
Activities :
1. An introductory brochure on traditional woven from different region of Turkey will be prepared and sent to young fashion designers who determined before. This brochure will describe how the woven used in its region, what characteristics are, its history etc. Also a part of textiles will be added to brochure.
2. A seminar will be organised in Abana. During the seminar,
2.1. Industrilization and its impacts to fashion,
2.2. How local products reflect cultures,
2.3. Milestones of EU and European fashion depends of social developments (1950-today),
2.4. A diffirent wiev to Turkish traditional wovens by European designers. (Designers will show and explain their designes, what they offer, how they thought and wyh).
are going to be discussed.
3. Designers project will be sewn until the last day of seminar.
4. In the last day of seminar, "activity 2.3." and "activity 2.4." will be supported by fashion shows.
5. A book, which includes designes and photograps of products, will be printed, and distributed the regions to investigate commercial possibilities.
6. A project web-site will be designed.

Conditions : Participating invitation is open for Member States of the European Union(EU), Countries in the European Free Trade Association(EFTA) which are members of the European Economic Area(EEA) such as Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway, and Countries which are candidates for accession to the European Union such as Bulgaria and Romania..

Other Notes : 100% of the accommodation expenses in Turkey and 70% of the travelling expenses will be covered by the project budget. Participants for this exchange will only need to cover the remaining 30% of the travelling costs. Participation fee is 45 € per head.
