PhD Studentship in Lameness Prevention School of Clinical Veterinary Science

A PhD studentship is offered as part of a larger investigation into lameness prevention in dairy cattle. The studentship will focus on factors influencing the locomotion of cattle and relationships between locomotion, claw lesions and environmental parameters. The findings of this research will feed into intervention strategies for preventing lameness on UK dairy farms. The successful candidate will join a fast growing research group involved in animal welfare assessment and preventive planning.

The post is supported by the Tubney Charitable Trust for 3 years and would be suitable for a veterinary graduate. The stipend will be in the region of *£15,000 - £17,500* per annum.
