Merit scholarships at Adelphi University, Garden City, New York

Adelphi University enrolls 8,000 students from diverse backgrounds, including students from 40 states and over 200 international students from 64 countries.

Adelphi is recognized for over a century of innovation in liberal arts and professional studies. The University features outstanding programs in fine and performing arts, sciences, and communications, an Honors College, and premier programs for students with learning disabilities.

The pastoral and beautiful 75-acre campus in historic Garden City, New York is conveniently located 45 minutes from New York City. The University also has centers in Manhattan, Hauppauge, and the Hudson Valley.

Eligibility Requirements
* All applicants must provide complete documentation of all certificates, degrees, titles, or diplomas earned, as well as grades or mark sheets from all academic institutions attended.
* The SAT or ACT is waived for international undergraduate applicants unless their native language is English.
* All international student applicants must provide official English language test scores (TOEFL). (Recommended minimum scores: Paper-based- 550; Computer-based- 213; iBT/Interactive- 80).
* All international applicants must 1) complete and return the Affadavit of Support and 2) submit documents showing proof of sufficient financial resources before the I-20 can be issued (for F-1 visas).

Scholarships for Undergraduate International Students
Undergraduate international students are eligible for merit, talent, and athletic scholarships. These scholarships range from $6,000 to full tuition for freshman applicants. To qualify for a merit based award, students must have scored at least a 600 TOEFL (250 computer score, 100 Internet score) or 1050 combined on the critical reading and verbal sections of the new SAT, and have superior academic marks. Transfer = applicants are eligibile for scholarships in the range of $4,000-$9,000. To be eligible for full-time transfer scholarships, applicants must meet the TOEFL requirements listed above (unless they are transferring from an institution in a country with English as its native language) in addition to superior academic marks. Portfolio reviews and auditions are required for students interested in talent awards. All undergraduate applicants are reviewed for scholarship recommendation once a complete application is submitted. There is no separate scholarship application.
