Training: "Learning to Serve - Service-Learning", Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Dear all,

The Cluj-Napoca Volunteer Center in Romania is preparing the application for a training course entitled "Learning to Serve - Service-Learning" within the Youth in Action Program for the 1st of February 2008 deadline (action 4.3). We are currently looking for organizations willing to be our partners in this project.

The training course targets youth workers who are involved in community development projects that involve different community actors, especially but not limited to those from the educational environment (pupils, students, teachers, academic advisors, parents, etc.). The training course aims to offer the participants an overview on the topic of Service Learning and its connection to volunteering and community development. At the same time, we will offer the participants a series of tools, which will enable them to create efficient Service-Learning projects in their local communities.

We are aiming at spreading knowledge and information about the different ways of community involvement and volunteer work in Europe .

Our objectives are: to provide the youth organizations with an understanding of the concept and practice of Service-Learning; to create the framework for the development of future Service-Learning projects and cooperation in this field across Europe and to set the bases for intercultural learning.

We will invite 6 partner organizations – 4 participants/ country. For further details please contact us at your convenience.

The training course will take place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, between 15-21 September 2008. If you are interested in being partner in this project, please send us part III with signature and stamp by fax, at the fax number 0040 264 412 897.
