Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP)/Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in Law and Information Technology in the Faculty of Law for a period of 3 years, with the possibility of renewal. The appointee will primarily work with the Law and Technology Centre (formerly known as "China IT and Law Centre") under the Faculty of Law and the Department of Computer Science.
Applicants should have research experience in one or preferably more of the following fields of specialization:
- digital evidence
- intellectual property in the digital world
- privacy and data protection
- cyber crimes
- telecommunications
A doctoral degree in Information Technology Law or a cognate discipline is preferred for appointment as RAP and is required for appointment as PDF. A proven record of scholarly publications related to the above fields is highly desirable. The appointee should have the ability and commitment to conduct research independently and to secure external research grants.

Annual salaries will be in the following ranges (subject to review from time to time at the entire discretion of the University):
Research Assistant Professor : HK$511,680 - HK$622,740
Post-doctoral Fellow : HK$250,260 - HK$482,400

The appointment carries leave, and medical/dental benefits. Appointment at RAP level will also attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
