EPRU Grants to BiH Researchers

Economic Policy Research Unit Seeks to Assign Grants to BiH Researchers The Economic Policy Research Unit (EPRU) of the Council of Ministers of BiH, with financial support provided by the European Commission, seeks to assign grants of up to KM 8000 (approx. Eur 4000) to individual researchers or teams of researchers. To be eligible, applicants need to be BiH citizens and have a university degree in economics (or be pursuing a PhD program in economics).

A panel of experts will select a maximum of six research proposals for funding. To qualify, a proposal has to be promising in terms of scientific quality, and it has to target a topic of relevance for the BiH economy (e.g. most notably in the field of economic transition/development or EU integration). In addition to the research proposal, applications have to contain CVs of all applicants and a request for funding - with an indicative budget appropriate to the size of the project. Copies of recent research papers are also welcome.

In the case of successful application, the applicant/s and EPRU will sign a contract. The payment of the first half of the grant will become due after both sides have signed the contract. Approval of research results by the panel mentioned above will be the precondition for the transfer of the second half of the grant. Both for application and research output an English version is mandatory.

Deadlines:
· 10 March 2006 (postmark or email date) for proposals (no acceptance of addenda afterwards)
· 31 October 2006 for delivery of output in its final version
