Global Citizenship Essay Contest

YouthActionNet Global Citizenship Essay Contest

As citizens of an increasing inter-connected world, we all share certain responsibilities toward others – in our community and around the globe – as well as to the natural environment that sustains us. Do you consider yourself a global citizen? Why or why not? In a 700-word essay, elaborate on how you exercise your role as a global citizen. Why do you feel global citizenship is important? What attitudes and behaviors do you strive to uphold? What specific actions have you undertaken in realizing your role within today’s “global village?” What obstacles do you face – in your own life and within society at large?

Successful essays will:
- Tell a story and engage readers through the use of a specific anecdote(s) or examples.
