We invite you to spend part of your summer taking graduate courses in international affairs and languages at The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Whether you are a graduate student or a professional, SAIS Summer Programs offer many opportunity for your own career enhancement and personal enrichment.
SUMMER COURSES offers courses in international relations; economics; policy studies; development; conflict management; strategic and regional studies; and more.
SUMMER CERTIFICATES, designed for students and professionals, are geared toward those individuals wanting to expand on a chosen area of interest without pursuing a full degree. The Certificate in International Studies or the Certificate in International Development is offered to candidates who successfully complete a series of four Summer Courses. The certificate can be completed in as few as two summers by working at a rigorous pace or over an extended period of time.
SUMMER LANGUAGE INSTITUTE provides students the opportunity to develop specialized language skills. The language institute offers intensive courses with emphasis on political, economic and international topics in Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Political Russian. Courses are taught at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels.
ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE AND AMERICAN STUDIES prepares international students and professionals for English-speaking academic and business environments. To complement language instruction, seminars in American studies directly expose students to the diverse political, cultural and social landscape of the United States. Dates: June 12 - July 21.
