Conference: The CDC and its future
University of Nottingham, UK 28-31st March 2008
The Community of Democratic Choice Youth Forum is seeking participants to attend the above named conference. The CDC Youth Forum is the Youth Section of the CDC which consists of Eastern European states, led by Heads of States and Parliaments along with other `Intellectual and NGO' forums. Along with the Youth Forum conference, there will also be an Ambassadors Conference, where London based diplomats and UK
officials will gather at the same time to discuss the future of Eastern Europe. These two conferences seek to build the profile of young people as being useful policy developers, as well as being an effective resource for decision makers. The long term aim of the CDC Youth Forum is to create national teams in every country whom then create a platform for young people to engage with policy makers.
Target Group: NGO leaders, Young Academics,
University students and other interested young people.
Age range: 18 – 30
Participating countries: Any citizen from the list below:
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine
Project Place: The University of Nottingham, England, UK.
Activities: Seminar discussions, presentations, simulation games, group activities.
Number of participants: Up to 50 in total (approx 3 from each country)
Working Language: English
Costs: Participants are expected to fund their own travel and visas costs to the UK as well as a participant fee of £100/140€. This covers travel to and from a London
airport(s), travel within the UK, catering, accommodation and conference materials.
Please note that we are actively seeking sponsorship to help cover some of these costs. Depending on the number of participants these costs may be reduced.
