Postdoctoral Research Fellow - ATLAS Experiment, Simon Fraser University, Canada

The experimental high-energy physics group at Simon Fraser University invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow to work on the ATLAS experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider.

Our group is involved in multiple aspects of the experiment and currently consists of three faculty members, two postdocs and six graduate students. We have strong ties to TRIUMF, Canada's national subatomic physics laboratory also located in Vancouver, and other local HEP groups.

The SFU group has access to significant computing resources and hosts an ATLAS Tier-2 centre through WestGrid. Our group has been instrumental in the planning and implementation of the Canadian Tier-1 center at TRIUMF, which will host the West-coast ATLAS data analysis center, making Vancouver a vital ATLAS data and analysis platform outside of CERN.
Canada has extensive involvement in ATLAS liquid argon calorimetry. Our group has participated in test-beam, cosmic ray commissioning and in-situ jet energy scale studies.
This position will involve preparation, calibration and analysis of the first ATLAS data, and can be based either at CERN (Geneva) or at SFU (Vancouver). Our group historically has made significant contributions to Top, Higgs, QCD and Beyond Standard Model Physics, but has also interests in expanding to other topics.

The successful candidate must have a recent doctorate in experimental particle physics as well as experience in data analysis and programming. Salary will be competitive and will depend on experience.
Application
Interested parties should send a short statement of research interests, a curriculum vitae, and three letters of reference via email to:
