Postdoc/Graduate Assistant Position in Studies of Hereditary Neuralgic Amyotrophy

The Neurogenetics Laboratory, Division of Genetics and Developmental Medicine seeks a full-time Senior Fellow to participate in studies of hereditary neuralgic amyotrophy (HNA), a rare degenerative disorder with recurrent episodes of focal neuropathy. Studies involve functional analysis of the mutated gene (SEPT9: Nat. Genet 37:1044-1046, 2005) in cell culture and animal models. Candidates will be expected to perform research using techniques of molecular cell biology and biochemistry such as protein functional assays, immunohistochemistr y, and in situ hybridization. Candidates should have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. Requirements: a recent Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a biological science or related field. Applicants must have less than 48 months of postdoctoral research experience.
