Postdoctoral Researcher (12 month contract)
An opportunity exists for an ambitious postdoctoral researcher to develop free flowing dry immobilised enzyme powders that may be stored at room temperature for many months (possibly years), thus providing a range of solutions for the cost effective utilisation of biocatalysts in industry. The project is supported by the European Commission under its Framework Six programme. The responsible consortium comprises seven industrial partners plus three universities.
Requirements :
PhD in protein chemistry, protein biochemistry, enzymology or other relevant discipline. Experience in the immobilization and chemical modification of proteins, and in working with immobilized proteins, is desirable.
Candidates should demonstrate the capacity to be productive researchers. Publication records will be carefully considered as part of the selection process. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with good technical and presentational skills.

Salary:
Salary will accord with IUA Researcher Salary Scales (www.iua.ie ) and will be commensurate with experience.
