Postdoc in Byzantine Studies at the Department of Linguistics and Philology, Uppsala University

Uppsala University hereby declares the following position to be open for application:

Post doc in Byzantine Studies at the Department of Linguistics and Philology.

Description: The position entails individual research and related tasks within the field of Byzantine Studies (primarily with linguistic or literary orientation) . Some teaching at undergraduate and graduate level may be included (c. 10 %). A description of the research that is planned within the framework of the position must accompany the application. Applicants are expected to actively participate in and plan seminars and other events, both at the department and in cross disciplinary contexts.

Qualification: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or a corresponding exam from abroad in the field of Byzantine Studies. Priority will be given to applicants who have completed their Ph.D. within three years of the application deadline. Selection criteria: Special importance will be given to scholarly qualifications. Since the appointment is intended to strengthen Byzantine Studies in Uppsala, weight will also be given to the specific focus of the proposed research project. The salary will be according to competence. A salary claim should be included in the application.
