PhD fellowship as early stage researcher in Engineering (National Research Institute, Poland)

Investigation of correlation between wear of components in real applications and model tests - PhD fellowship within the MC-RTN “WEMESURF” funded by the European Commission through its 6th Framework Program. The aim of this research network is characterisation of wear mechanisms and surface functionalities with regard to life time prediction and quality criteria - from micro to the nano range.

The appointment for a period of 36 months amounts to € 30550/year factorised by the country correction coefficient (e.g. Austria 1.04). Additional funds are available as “mobility allowance” (€ 800/month for researcher being married or equivalent; € 500/month not married) and as annual “travel allowance” (depending on distance between home location and host). The appointment position requires a permanent and active participation in the study and research program of the Research Training Network. It will be possible to get up to € 2000/year for career exploratory allowance and additionally funds for travel expenses to conferences and cooperating scientific institutions as well as for research equipment.

Due to the aspired comprehensiveness of the training the fellows will be expected to travel between some of the host institutions in order to profit from the expertise provided by each host group.
