Call for Volunteers, CVG24 AGHIA VARVARA (Athene, Greece)

Dear Friends,

We have an important International Voluntary workcamp in an Athenian neighbourg that will start on the the 29th of June.

It is a new collaboration with the municipality of St. Barbara - like the Californian one! ;) - that is very important for us since we are planning several future activities with them. It is an area with gypsies, refugies and migrants and such an action proposed by the Municipality will have a strong impact on the local society. He has to be successfull and in order to be so we need your volunteers!

We really need volunteers!!! We have very few and in case we do not find some more we will be obliged to cancel this camp so please promote it as stongly as you can!!!!!!

CVG24 AGHIA VARVARA - One piece for Peace! Attica 29/06-15/07 ARTS 16

Location: Aghia Varvara is a municipality on the western suburbs of Athens, in the foothills of Mount Aighaleo. It is a multi-cultural municipality which during the last years has achieved a great development. It is a modern town, full of shops, cafes, squares, and the summer cinema which has a breathtaking view of all Athens. It is less than 20 minutes away from Athens by public transports.
Work: The municipality of Aghia Varvara, for the last 16 years, organizes an educational summer camp "School Summer Camp in Town", for children between 6-12 years old. Volunteers will have the opportunity to help the kids in several activities like dancing lessons, chess, drawing, music, etc. Moreover they will create their own multi cultural arts workshop. This year the organizers, together with the international volunteers, plan to develop these activities inspired by three big world's threatens: war, racism and environmental disaster.

Accommodation: In the town's Primary school. Toilets, showers and cooking facilities will be provided.

Terminal: Athens
Logistics: Food, Accommodation and insurance are covered for all the duration of the camp. Volunteers have to cover travel expenses and a small participation fee of 60 Euros!
