Aim of the seminar

Main aim of the project is to exchange information about position of volunteerism in different countries members of CoE and to contribute to reinforcement of suitable legal framework for national and international volunteering.

Objectives:

q To exchange information about position of volunteerism in some of the countries members of CoE.

q To build new partnerships and plan concrete actions and projects related to establishment of the legal framework for volunteerism, on national and international level, and plan future work on better recognition of volunteer work.

q To increase knowledge and skills about advocacy techniques and tools in building of legal framework for volunteerism on national and international level.

q To increase level of knowledge about level of Youth Policy development in SEE and correlation with future development of voluntarism in specific countries members of CoE.

Main program elements
Themes of the workshops:

q Position of volunteerism in CoE countries

q Youth mobility and volunteerism as a part of Youth Policy, Structures of decision making in countries present on the meeting

q Elements of good advocacy campaign with concrete action planning for future advocacy related to volunteerism.

q Presentation of relevant documents adopted by Council of Europe, UN and other institution.

NGO fair with the aim to present work of the organizations participating in the meeting to local NGOs, members of local municipality and representatives of Steering Committee for development of National Plan for Youth in Montenegro. Idea is to give broader picture to all parties involved: member of national team that is leading process of Youth policy development in Montenegro and participants of the meeting it self, involved in similar work in heir own countries.

Public awareness campaign in local community during meeting itself, members of ADP - Zid will organize campaign about volunteerism on national level. It will be called: WEEK OF VOLUNTEERISM and participants of the meeting would be invited to help in PR activities.

English, Serbian/Croatian/ Bosnian (for some lectures)

Participants
25 participants from Council of Europe member states or signatories to the European Cultural Convention.

An important criterion for selection of participants will be previous experiences in working on voluntarism development projects. Another criterion will be their experience in youth policy development, desirable but not mandatory.

Board and logging

Fully covered by organizer.

Travel expenses

Will be covered up to 70 %, but max 250 Euro for participants from EU. For destination close to Montenegro, we shall be able to suggest for participants to travel by train or bus.

Participation fee

For participants from EU country is 50 Euro, and for participants from candidate and SEE countries is 30 Euro.

Application procedure

Interested candidate should send:
- Application form,
- Motivation letter, explaining why they are interested in this particular subject and in which way they would implement acquired knowledge after the meeting.

Optional:
- Abstract about Situation related to voluntarism in the home country, with overview of voluntarism legislation or/and Influence of the Youth Policy on Volunteerism Development. Interested candidate would be invited to present their work during the program of the seminar, and would not need to pay participation fee.
