Early stage researcher (ESR) in Experimental quantum optics with single trapped atoms
Duration: 6 - 12 months
With single trapped ions and atoms, we will investigate the manipulation of their quantum state by feedback mechanisms. In particular, control of the motional state through electronic feedback as well as optical feedback in resonators will be studied. Feedback operations between different atoms will also be considered. In this context, the applicant's task will be to study in detail the use of optical resonators in combination with trapped ions and atoms.

Good knowledge of quantum optical concepts. Knowledge of concepts of atom trapping, atom-laser interaction, and laser cooling. Laboratory experience in a relevant area such as laser spectroscopy, atom optics, cavity QED, or similar. Good team player, good communication skills.
