2008 American Indian Summer Studies Institute

The American Indian Studies Summer Institute
June 9-13, 2008
Onamia, MN

With the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe's support, St. Cloud State University and the American Indian Center is offering a week-long professional development training to educators, administrators and staff to increase their sensitivity and awareness of Minnesota Indian history, language and culture. This week long training will be held at the Nay Ah Shing school on the Mille Lacs Ojibwe Reservation. At the end of the training, each participant must present to the elders what they learned for feedback and/or corrections. This workshop is an opportunity to learn about Minnesota Indians from Minnesota Indians.

I have attached a brochure and application in case you may know of teachers who work with Indian children who may want to increase their effectiveness.
