Announcement follows:

We seek qualified PhD, Master Students, post-Docs and professionals who would like to take the opportunity to study in the fields of Environmental Sciences with an interdisciplinary perspective, and get a Mobility Grant to participate to the conference Managing Water Resources in European Mountain Environments.

Receiving a Marie Curie Mobility Grant would potentially widen your research perspectives and personal experiences, as well as contribute directly to the development of your dissertation and research activities.

The aim of this Marie Curie Series of Conferences is to support the mobility of European PhD and M.Sc. researchers, in order to foster enduring cooperation and develop the issues of the Water Framework Directive (WFD 2000/60) implementation.

First conference
Belluno (Italy), 8-12 October 2007
Water, Culture, Society. Managing Water Resources in European Mountain Environments
Sessions:
1. The transforming environment. Water stress and water scarcity
2. Mountain water supply: hydropower, dams and multiple water uses
3. Competing and conflicting water uses. Contestation, confrontation and conflict
4. The water needs of the Plains and the Delta. The Belluno Province and the Veneto Region as arenas of focused disagreement.
5. Integrated River Basin Management and Alternative Dispute Resolution
6. The role of the Water Framework Directive (WFD 2000/60) in regional and national water policies
7. Emerging paradigms and future scenarios.

MARIE CURIE MOBILITY GRANTS

The Scientific Board of the Marie Curie project ESWG 2007-2010, contract number SCF 046161
offers n. 30 Mobility Grants as detailed below:
· 15 mobility grants for Early stage Researchers (0-4 years of experience after graduation,
typically PhD or Master Students)
· 15 mobility grants for Experienced Researchers (4-10 years of experience after
graduation, typically post-Doc)

Formal Requirements:
 Master or PhD Students, or post-doctoral professional specialisation.
 Studies within the scope of post-graduate programmes.
 Be a citizen of one of the Member States or EU acceding countries.
 Good command of the English language.

Technical Requirements:
 Student in the fields of Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences and Engineering.
 Letter of intent by the candidate student, curriculum vitae, recommendation letter and abstract of research interests.
