Academic Solutions is very pleased to invite applications for the UNITAR seminar on PEACEKEEPING IN THE FORMER YUGOSLAVIA: FROM THE DAYTON ACCORD TO KOSOVO. The participation fee for applications received by 15th May is only 295 euros.
This official UN short course will be delivered on 7th and 8th July at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia by Dr. Giovanni Ercolani, who will present a UN perspective regarding the military and political efforts to bring peace to the Former Yugoslavia during 1995-1999 as well as discuss his own military experience in the region.
The lectures are organized into three intensive three-hour meetings, in which the following topics will be covered:
• New & Old Wars, Civil Wars, Ethnic Conflicts, Terrorism
• Understanding Peacekeeping
• Understanding Conflict Resolution
• The Dayton Accord
• UN/NATO operations
• The role of the media
• The Kosovo crisis
Successful participants will be awarded certificates from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.
