Applicants are invited for the above post in the School of Cancer and Imaging Sciences.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an interdisciplinary team of imaging scientists and dental researchers, continuing work developing an image analysis tool for detecting signs of osteoporosis from Panoramic Dental Radiographs. A successful prototype tool was developed under EU funding, and received a prestigious award for healthcare research. In this project, funded by the Dunhill Trust, we wish to extend the capabilities of the current software by improved image modelling and increase the specificity and sensitivity of the current analysis by investigating further features that can be derived from the images.
The ideal candidate will have a good honours degree in a mathematical, computational or physical science and a PhD, or considerable experience, in Computer Vision/Medical Image Analysis or closely related research. Experience of multidisciplinary collaboration will be an advantage, as will post-doctoral experience in a relevant field.
