American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowships

Program Description: Up to fifty-two fellowships are available to support advanced study and training at approved U.S. institutions by women of outstanding ability who are citizens of countries other than the United States.

Average Award Amount: The amount of the award is $20,000 for doctoral students, and $18,000 for master's students.

Number of Awards: 52

Award Duration: The fellowship runs from July 1 to June 30th.

Award Deadline: The application deadline is December 15.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. There are no restrictions as to the age of the applicant or the field of study. Upon return to their own countries, fellowship recipients are expected to provide effective leadership in their fields. Applicants must possess an academic degree equivalent to the bachelor's degree in the United States and must have a plan of study or research which will advance the applicant's professional competence upon returning to her home country. Applicants who are not native English
speakers and are not presently enrolled in a U.S. university must demonstrate English proficiency by a satisfactory score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
