Postdoctoral Position - Applied Mathematics (Geological Storage of CO2) - University of Bergen

At the Department of Mathematics/CIPR, University of Bergen, we have a vacant postdoctoral position at the project Geological Storage of CO2: Mathematical Modelling and Risk Assessment. The position is a two years appointment, with employment at Unifob AS.

This position is designed to address the applicability of large scale numerical simulations of porous media flow in a comprehensive risk assessment framework. The candidate is expected to explore and quantify the uncertainties in both the numerical modelling and the risk analysis. The project in general aims at developing novel solution methodology within the context of carbon sequestration. The successful candidate is expected to integrate this into his/her work.

Suitable applicants should have a Ph.D. or similar education in reservoir technology or applied and computational mathematics. Project requirements require that applicants should be able to work in a cross-disciplinary team and have a keen interest to learn methods and skills outside their current expertise.

The position is financed by the Norwegian Research Council. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
