We welcome applicants with chemistry backgrounds for a postdoctoral scientist position in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at University of Colorado, Boulder. We study the mechanisms and regulation of membrane fusion. Our long-term goal is to shed light on the pathogenesis of diseases associated with these processes such as diabetes and neurological disorders. We use combined tools of lipid chemistry, biochemical reconstitution and molecular biology.
The scientist will be a primary researcher in a highly collaborative group and will work closely with the PI and other members of the lab. There are several projects well on track and the researchers are encouraged to choose directions that are of most interest. They are also encouraged to develop their own ideas. Boulder/Denver area is home to major academic institutions and vibrant biotechnological firms. The area offers outstanding outdoor activities.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have organic chemistry backgrounds and would like to carry out exciting research across chemistry and biology disciplines. We provide very comprehensive compensation and benefits packages. Outstanding resources will be provided including state-of-the-art research facilities and technical support.
