New Publication: Green Paper on the European Research Area

Dear colleagues,

The Information Office of the Steering Platform would like to draw your attention on the Green Paper entitled "The European Research Area: New Perspectives" recently adopted by the European Commission (we reported in the latest issue of the see-science. eu journal; the article is available at http://www.see- science.eu/ news/1826. html). The public consultation process is open till August 31, 2007 and we would like to encourage you to actively participate in shaping the European Research Area. Comments may also focus on one or two specific questions of your
interest.

Feedback as to whether the specific positon of the candidate and potential candidate countries has been sufficiently addressed in the paper or not is of high importance. Is the position of the WBCs in the ERA adequate? Are specific needs covered? What is their position in international cooperation?

The direct link to the online consultation is
http://ec.europa. eu/research/ era/consultation -era_en.html.

We'd like to invite you to also share your comments and concerns with see-science. eu in order to be able to collectively take up issues to be addressed (send your comments to Elke Dall at office@see-science. eu).

Since the publication of the spring issue of the see-science. eu journal , several news have been published on our website http://www.see- science.eu (see a digest below) - please feel free also to send us your event announcements and contributions!
